So, we just sat down to dinner at an exceptionally great restaurant that we happened upon this afternoon that also happened to be on "the list" and we heard a siren and then people started yelling "acqua alta, acqua alta." The waiter told us that there was a huge storm that had done damage in Milan, Pavia and Turino - he saw it on the 6:00 news - and the highest of the high water was predicted for 10:00 p.m. - this was at about 7:45. So we figure, we can at least have dinner, right? And I, for some reason that will always be a mystery, had stashed a pair of rubber slippers in my bag! Photos below. Yes, I know. I still haven't posted a word about or a photo from the Biennale - right now, my priority is the glass of prosecco in front of me. Piu tardi, mi amici, piu tardi...
