Who Knows Where the Time Goes?

Since Wanda arrived we have walked (a lot), shopped (oh, come on everyone shops on vacation and neither of us made any major purchases and much of the loot is gifts for some of you so stop rolling your eyes) including for foodstuffs at Mercato Rialto, walked (more), had breakfast at Rosa Salva - one of the oldest and coolest breakfast/coffee/sandwich/pastry places of its kind in Venice; they also have their own gelateria and the gelato just may be the best I've had yet this trip - walked, shopped (for shoes - INexpensive ones), eaten really good pizza and torta rustica, walked, shopped (I can't remember for what except maybe more gifts), had dinner last night at a relatively new restaurant called Antica Adelaide - very good - Caprese, mussels, tagliatelle with rabbit ragout, rigatoni with sweet peppers, onions, eggplant and fresh sheep ricotta - and we walked. We also rode some vaporetti when we were too tired to walk. Did I mention that it's blazing hot here?!

Today, we both saw plenty of art - Wanda went to Ca' Rezzonico - 17th & 18th Century - I went to a bunch of Biennale collateral events, most of them excellent. Yeah, I'll get the pictures and commentary together...someday.

Tonight we had dinner at home - I cooked, Wanda baked dessert - how's that for a switch. I made a salad and pasta with Gorgonzola dolce sauce and sauteed radicchio; she baked a delizioso fresh fig and apricot bread pudding which we just had with our evening espresso. Maybe that's why I can't sleep!? We had hoped that Contessa Anna would have been able to join us but she had a party at the club this evening (and another on Sunday). She is, after all, a Contessa.

And I have been working - not a lot - but, as expected, there have been things that have come up daily that need to be handled. (A publicist's work is never done.) Not complaining AT ALL, just giving you another reason (excuse) why I haven't had time to deal with the Biennale/photos thing yet.
