Winding down and packing up

Hard to believe a month has passed. It has been packed full of art, art, and more art - some thrilling, some appalling, and much in between - great food with dear old friends, and a growing familiarity with the ways of a city that is truly a marvel. And now it's almost time to bid it arrivederci again. I intend - and we all know about the road to hell and all those good intentions - to spend the next couple of days posting about things that have gotten away from me over the last weeks - some adventures, some art, some food. I'll do my best. I've got a lot of organizing and packing up to do.

Today we went to Ca' Pesaro which houses Venice's modern art museum. Among the permanent collection were several Biennale installations so both Wanda and I were "art happy" today. And we were "food happy," too - we had lunch at a lovely little rio-side restaurant called Il Refelo. It's where Marcia and I had - if memory serves - our first dinner in '07. Pizza! Yippee! GREAT pizza bearing no resemblance whatsoever to anything we can get on Maui, I'm afraid.

It's just started raining - hopefully, it will cool things down. As I said, I will do my best to fill in the gaps before I leave La Serenissima on Wednesday morning. If I'm unsuccessful, rest assured I'll post a bunch of photo galleries with stories to go with them as soon after I get home as possible. For now, mi amici, buona notte.
